The PGE CG operates in alignment with both national and international guidelines on the circular economy, drawing primarily on legislative and non-legislative initiatives under the European Green Deal.
To date, the Group has not implemented a dedicated policy specifically addressing resource efficiency and circular economy principles. Nevertheless, material impacts, risks, and opportunities in this area are managed through provisions embedded in broader corporate documents.
The overarching framework guiding PGE CG’s activities is the PGE CG Strategy until 2030, which emphasises the importance of closing circularities and maximising material recovery within the organisation.
Additionally, the Environmental Policy of the PGE CG and the Declaration by the Management Board of PGE S.A. on the environmental policy define the principles, responsibilities, and strategic direction for environmental stewardship, also with regard to waste management and combustion by-products. These documents set the Group’s approach to resource management and circularity. They promote sustainable development, compliance with environmental regulations, resource efficiency, and recycling. Information on the minimum disclosure requirements relating to these documents, not covered by the present section, can be found in section E1-2 of this Statement.
The level of detail in the adopted policies and environmental statements may vary across the companies, depending on their specific operational profiles. In the context of resource efficiency and circular economy practices, they declare their commitment to implementing the Policy primarily through:
- rational and efficient consumption of raw materials, fuels, electricity, and heat;
- minimising adverse environmental impacts through appropriate management in the areas of water and wastewater management and air emissions, reducing the amount of waste generated and utilising it as efficiently as possible, as well as through the restoration of adversely transformed land,
- supporting and engaging in initiatives that promote environmental responsibility and circular economy.
