As of 26 April 2023, amendments to the Labour Code were introduced in Poland as a result of the transposition of EU directives: the Work-life Balance Directive and the Directive on Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions. Each employee holding an employment contract is entitled to five days of unpaid carers’ leave to care for a parent, spouse, child, or a person residing in the same household (Article 173(1) of the Labour Code).

All employees are entitled to family leave in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Labour Code, CCBA, social policy, and work regulations.
