As one of the largest electricity generators in Poland, the PGE Capital Group is taking a number of measures to minimise the negative impact of its operations on the environment and the community. Remedial measures form an integral part of this process and are crucial in the event of adverse events.
The PGE Group has put in place its own communication channels available to all stakeholders, including local communities, who can raise their concerns and express their doubts using them. The various PGE Group companies operate selected communication channels. Detailed information about these channels is available on their websites and may include: contact forms, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, traditional correspondence, helplines, Local Information Points, contact boxes (city library, city community centres, city administration) Customer Service Office, and heating and power emergency services.
The PGE Capital Group has also introduced a formal whistleblowing mechanism. This allows affected communities to report their concerns and needs directly to the companies. Detailed information is described in part G1 of this Statement and is also available at www.gkpge.pl in the Compliance tab. In addition, anyone who has questions or concerns can send an email to: OpiniaCompliance.pgesa@gkpge.pl. Reports via this channel are constantly monitored by a responsible unit, which initiate immediate action after receiving a report, where necessary.
In 2024, no confirmed cases were recorded of the PGE Group failing to comply with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, or the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, with zero human rights violations. At the same time, there is no information confirming that such violations have taken place in the PGE Group’s value chain subject to analysis, which is confirmed by an examination of the reports registered in both the internal reporting system, which has been in operation in the PGE Group since 25 September 2024, and the non-compliance reporting system. No serious human rights issues or incidents have been reported in relation to the affected communities.
In 2024, there were no studies on the level of satisfaction with raising awareness measures among affected communities regarding reporting channels and trust in these channels, or on the effectiveness and results of these measures. Local communities use the available contact channels to inform the Group companies about any needs, opinions, or concerns.
